The European Community Telework/Telematics Forum is the framework across European Union member states for concertation on telework and related telematics applications.

The ECTF promotes teleworking and the exchange and dissemination of information between telework projects and organisations interested in telework. These actions are carried out by means of seminars, conferences and publications.

The ECTF is an open forum in which over 3000 organisations and individuals representing European regional governments, development agencies, telephone operators and equipment manufacturers and other private and public sector organisations have participated since it was founded in early 1992.

Global concertation and dissemination actions are implemented through the network of 30 ECTF coordinators covering EC and EFTA countries, the USA, Japan and Singapore.

Arranges and/or supports the development of Regional Telework Platforms, providing guidelines and specific training.

Organizes and/or co-organizes regional seminars and conferences, small workshops, thematic Focus Group and exchange visits. It also advises and provides networking and contact services for these concertation activities - which are generally sponsored by organisations in the respective EU member states.

Develops and delivers telework courses and training sessions.

Publishes a newsletter - "ECTF News" - and promotes ongoing events notices.

Promotes and disseminates results of EC and national R&D actions in telework as well as "Calls for Proposals" for EC and national funding.

Advises on forming trans-european consortia for joint ventures and R&D
projects, and on the preparaation of proposals, business and marketing plans.

The ECTF is also in the process of expanding its concertation and networking activities and thematic coverage within Europe and specially in Eastern and Central European countries.

The ECTF International Secretariat is in Madrid and its focal point for Italy is
INNOVA INTERNATIONAL of Rome, which is also responsible for the
management of this on-line service.
